I made my delicious Provençal white bean stew this afternoon. It's always lovely. This time, I decided to add some barley, to change it a bit, and to give that added dimension of nutrition, and because I have a big canister of barley I want to use.
*sigh*
You know how dried grains look really small, but when you cook them, they get big? Yeah. I put in a bit too much barley. It soaked up all of the delicious broth and completely took over the stew. It is now barley stew without much flavor, with beans, celery, onion, and tomato floating around at infrequent intervals.
Fucking fuck.
Fortunately, the French bread is store bought, so I can't fuck that up. Ditto the diet coke.
