my eyes nail shut. the wooden door lifts, the sepulcher opens. one hand at the side.no, two hands at my side, no four hands at my side.one shadow behind, no two shadows behind, no four shadows behind. always behind shadows, dark always behind.two feet on the floor to guide. your feet on the floor with mine. my life and yours in time. taken by the death that binds. the love that breaks. earth that shakes. fear that makes one hand reach the neck and other touch the cross. one to squeeze and the other to repent the loss, to revel in the cost , to bathe in blood and moss. two bodies in the graveyard. indestinguishable which is the one alive. one death makes five, one 6 foot dive into the ground and thrive. that is to be buried alive. to scratch at the coffins door. to breath no more. to finally settle the score.two eyes nailed shut. another shadow walking behind. i gather so many each time i take a life.i cant control this hand. i cant control this knife. and most tragic of all, neither can my wife.
