Writing and Moments

"Funny how the moments that are most important, that should be documented, are often left to memory because when major changes happen, you don't have time to write it all down." -Maria Gao

Do you think that maybe it is not simply the most important moments, but more specifically, the most important happy moments that are the ones that are harder to document? I, too, fail to keep up with my live journal. Maybe it's a good thing, because it meant I was having a lot of fun and didn't have time or the "down-energy" to update and write and reflect. When monumentally sad things happen, though, I have all the time in the world. I could write every day if I needed to. A breakup for example, is an important moment in your life because it teaches you a lot. Same with death, albeit a much sadder instance.

Why is it that sad moments require so much more reflection?
