that game is awesome.

graphics card i suggest is ati radeon 4650 for the cheap or if you can save up a bit 4670. this assumes you have a pci express slot. if not, i dont have a really good recommendation except something with at least 256mb of ram.

also, windows 7. if you can get a copy for free, its better than xp in many ways (ive heard including resident memory size as well). skip vista forever.

I thought about getting 7, but I worried that it wouldn't be able to run the programs I care about. I need '95 emulation and the ability to run 16-bit installers. Didn't want to risk it when I'm comfy with XP. Besides, I need less RAM this way. (I decided to skip Vista a looong time ago. Particularly with my needs, it's absurd. whatever card you end up with, just make sure it has fan speed control. i have one of the first gen of 4670 and the fan is either high or low. kind of annoying.

im not sure if there is any difference in pcie 1.x vs 2.x except that youll want to be sure your motherboard has the more advanced spec of the two if theres a discrepancy. the version is just bandwidth, afaik (nothing protocol-specific).

i havent tested windows 7 legacy support yet. i should install it on my old laptop and see how it goes.
