Hello, Livejournal.
I've never really gone away. I read everyone who posts on my friend's list. I do post on occasion, when I need help on what to do with found pets abandoned animals, or when I reply to someone's post. I usually don't post anything in my own journal, unless it's my birthday.
Well, today... I am forty years old. Forty. If I were on Facebook, everyone would know by now.
I should be having some sort of mid-life crisis, but today I'm going to focus on the positives.
I don't feel forty. I don't look forty, either.
I've got some pretty extraordinary dogs. Thanks to them, I'm in better physical shape then I've ever been in my adult life.
I'm also eating better: including more fresh fruits & vegs, all but eliminating fast foods & fried foods, drinking more non-carbonated beverages like iced tea & green tea. Plus I'm getting better with my barbecue skills, in particular with smoking and indirect grilling. Right now I've got two nine-pound bone-in Boston butts being slow-cooked & smoked with a combo of mesquite, pecan, and cherry woods.
After I eat some kick-ass pulled pork goodness, I'm going to go bar-hopping in the Quarter. I'd love to see some friendly & familiar faces if I can. If tonight's no good for ya, I'll be over at One Eyed Jacks during 80s Night tomorrow.
I gotta go check the grill. Hope to see and/or hear from beautiful people soon!
