It's snowing here -- and I mean really snowing. In Seattle (and in the Pacific NW in general), if we have 3-4 inches of snow it's pretty amazing. Then if we get ice, it's just bad. Today, we have about 10 inches of snow at my house and it's still coming down. And it's supposed to continue for the next few days.
This means that at this point I can't go to work (hence I do not get paid), and my family's upcoming visit is delayed or even...cancelled? For the first time in my life (and I am over 40), I won't be with my family at Christmas. My parents are arriving in Portland, my home town, on Tuesday and will stay at my sister's house. Then they were coming up here for 4 days. The icing on the cake is that I bought theater tickets for us on Friday. Hmmmmm....
Maybe I'll just crawl under the covers and hide. Or I will continue to clean and watch the snow. It is beautiful -- just impossible to get around in because in Seattle we not only have hills, we have HILLS. Lots of them. Steep, snowy, icy hills...
