He knew what normal was. He watched the television shows; seen the Oprah specials. It was all he knew about everything when it came to something like being normal. He didn't get the apple pie sort of life. The one that the Djinn teased him with where he would be dating a nice looking nurse who loved him, working nine to five sort of job and even the small conversation of having a family had popped up in all of that. Of being someone's father and being someone who wasn't risking his life day in and day out for the greater good. Half of him wished Sam would have left him in the Djinn's grasp, just so he could have those moments again. Where everything was normal and everyone was happy for the moment in time they were together. Even though the downsides to such a thing was something he knew would grow heavy on him one day. Leaving his brother behind. Leaving the world behind.
All because he wanted something for himself.
Cassie. Cassie was normal to him. Long before the lie the Djinn created there was her. If he shut his eyes he could remember creeping out of the place for a hunt before returning back to her side. His side of the bed had grown cold since he had left her side. But she still seemed to welcome him in. It was a different sort of passion he wasn't used too. He wanted everything when it came to the dark skinned beauty, know everything about her and deal with her one day at a time. The heavy thought of marriage even crept into his head for a couple moments before the moment of truth reared its ugly head.
"What? Dean, you're insane. You need help." It was always that. Dean hadn't really warmed up to bringing someone he slept with into the light of knowing what he really did. The reaction of 'you're a freak' or 'you're insane' was just something that didn't make Dean think about bringing someone into his side of the world again. It wasn't worth it since he wasn't someone who dealt with relationships in the magnitude others were. He wasn't like Sam. He couldn't do something on a lie. Not to mention hunting was pretty much all he knew. There was no gray to everything. It was all black and white to him for the most part as he moved head first through life before...before he died.
Normal. Normal wasn't dealing with the nightmares of being in Hell. Dean didn't know which way was up after he discovered he was 'chosen by God' to do whatever. Help save humanity. Help save the world. He didn't care much for it. Right at the moment...walking through the little square where the 'authentic' atmosphere consisted of people in costumes and pretzels bigger than his head he had his eyes fixated on what normal was becoming to him. The blond still had her back to him before he walked over and tapped on her shoulder for a moment. It didn't even take a moment before Jaime turned to him; his head dipping down to kiss her before her lips could form the words of 'G-Man' as he pulled her tightly against him. "I'll see you in a couple days." He muttered quietly against her lips before giving her another kiss before pulling away from her.
She. Jaime. She was normal to him now.
