Well, it took everything I had in me, but I made it through the past two days.
CRT runs on a Three rehearsals a day schedule, and so a show will have one, two, or no rehearsals in one day (since there are 4 shows rehearsing at one time) BUT one of the stage managers was out of town this weekend, and one actor was also gone, so the only show still fully equipped and able to rehears was Irma Vep, so we had all 6 rehearsal slots, and in the course of 18 hours we blocked the entire 70 page 2 man show…and by the last rehearsal, it was all any of us could do to stay sane, let alone productive. My head literally hurt from the amount of info we took in. And yes, the show is gonna be great, and crazy, and a lot of fun…but there is so much to it, that it’s one of those shows, when you’re doing it, you eat, drink, and sleep it. I can’t sleep without dreaming about the bloody thing. I’ve got the first scene memorized and a good idea of the other two scenes in act one…and I am as of yet unfamiliar with act two, but that all needs to change in a very short amount of time. These next few days will basically be spent with book in hand, and I’ll take breaks when I can’t focus anymore, then back at it again when I can.
This is not conducive to me getting my six books ready for UGA…that’ll have to come later this summer.

(this part is written about a week later)
I got a call today from a guy from my old CoH guild. I started thinking about it after I talked to him today, and realized how long a history I have with that game, and it makes me realize why it just can’t hold my attention anymore. I was in CoH beta the week it started, and with a number of other players formed the first RP SG on the server (since beta was just one server) and I was there to vote on server names, and test new power sets, and even sets they took out and ended up implementing later. After playing the closed and open beta then playing at launch, after about a year and a half after live my whole SG moved to EQ2 when it came out and I went with them there, and then we went back to CoH after awhile and then I did closed and opened beta for CoV…and I just realize now that I’ve had every power in one for or anther in that game, whether live or in beta…and after exploring WoW…I mean really, that’s the difference…City of Heroes…is the size of a city, and World of Warcraft is a world…just the size of it all…all the continents, traveling for hours with out hitting a load screen…enemies that don’t all look alike, quests and missions that take you some place besides street cleaning or into an office building, class and race differences, power customization, skills, talents, armor and weapons… SuperHeroes are my love, the thing I know most about in the world, but the game just can’t hold a candle, content wise, to any other game out there, and I don’t see it getting any better now that cryptic is working on the marvel mmorpg.
When it’s all said and done, I hope to just be playing that off my 360 and never look back, because any game, when you play it as hard as I play games, they loose appeal after awhile. I just finally got the taste for WoW again, and that was after not playing for 3-4 months.

So far I’ve played or beta tested for…
Ultima Online, EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot (I REALLY wanna give this one a try a again, I miss it often), Planet Side, StarWars, City of Heroes, EverQuest II, World of Warcraft, The Matrix Online, Guild Wars, Auto Assault, and City of Villains.
That’s a lot of games…and to think there are a still dozens I’ve never looked at.
I’m interested to see what the reaction is to LotR: SoA is.

A few more weeks, and life will calm….will Mark and I make it till then?
We shall see.
