Consider this: You may believe you have won, but have you really, or is this victory merely a figment of your imagination? People can be such clever creatures, after all. Think of how easy it would be for him to convince you that this has ended well, when perhaps he's still sneaking more than glances at someone far more appetizing than yourself.
