bang gang: Despite the dyslexic transposed letters it's not as sexy as it sounds. It's the name of an Icelandic band who play a somber mix of dance beats and melancholy atmospheric noise. Also he mainly uses a French girl singer so in all it sounds oh so European.
ears with feet: This is a phrase very familiar to Tori Amos fans. It's a phrase she coined to describe her fans about ten years ago.
gackt: Oh, what can one say about the great gift to the world that is Gackt? Or really that's the way he would start out describing himself. His ego is always the first thing to walk into the room. Gackt is a super talented Japanese singer/songwriter and actor. He co-wrote and starred in a movie with his best friend Hyde who is also a very popular musician. The movie was mediocre at best and Gackt's acting was less than stellar. It did earn him a lot of exposure and showed how photogenic he was. Regardless of the movies reception, Gackt went on to lucrative endorsements for multiple items in Japan and regularly tours all over Asia and remains a popular figure in the pop culture of that part of the world. His last big tour ended up selling out the Tokyo Dome on Christmas Eve '06 (55,000 seats). He also has a growing popularity here in America. Mostly his exposure is limited to Anime conventions and other events like JapanFest but you can nearly always find a booth selling high-res photos and concert DVD's. And it's really amazing to me that English speaking fans do not mind at all that he sings not a lick in their language. I really like his music and he was really the first JRock musician I got into and it sort of unraveled from there for me. And it's worth mentioning that a peek at my icons will show a lot of pictures I have of him. (Ha.)

revidescence: David Usher coined a new word (as you can see on my info page) and I just expanded on it. Also it's in the name of my journal.
vampires: I'm a little obsessed with vampires. But I am also picky about it. I like the vampires in Poppy Brite and Anne Rice books. Other people tend to fuck it up by making them too hokey or too much like mindless killing machines. There's definitely something romantic about them for me. It's hard to explain to other people. You just know when something does it for you even if the rest of the world doesn't get it. Also I like gothic stuff. Now I am embarrassed.
