I'm quoting
katmillia since I am lazy can't put it in a better summary:
"In case you haven't heard the news from another source right now, Kiana Firouz is an Iranian lesbian who made a documentary about being a lesbian in Iran that is being released in the UK in a few day's time. Because she is out and has done this, if she is deported back to Iran she faces 100 lashes and potentially death by public hanging for "the sin of homosexuality", and British government has denied her claim to asylum on refugee status. I know this isn't much, but I'm hoping that posting about this will draw some more attention to the issue, because I can't believe I haven't heard this from someone else?
The original story about Kiana, her documentary, and her struggles, is here. There is a petition there to sign to keep her in the UK, as well.
Please consider spreading word about this very amazing woman and her predicament. She needs and deserves support. ♥"
