I was watching the Supernatural episode, The Rapture, again, and couldn't help noticing how lovely Castiel's expression was when he first beamed down to Earth. ( Yay my first Castiel fanart )
Ohmigosh, I love it! It's just so *beautiful*. I love the expression on his face, too. And his hair! <3 What did you use to color it? It looks like pastels. In that case I am righteously jealous of you, 'cause I don't know how to color with traditional media anymore! X_x I personally don't find anything wrong with the coloring--it's very warm and soft--but if you want to see how it looks like with different hues and such, it's easy to do it in Photoshop or similar programs. ^_^
Haha. Your jealousy is misplaced cause it wasn't colored with traditional media at all! I colored it using Photoshop. XD I played around with the Wet Media brushes to give it a watercolor effect. Actually i loved how the color combination turned out. I like it warm and soft too. :) The part i found weird was how i colored his face. I think i ended up giving him a different facial structure. =_=
And thank you so much for your wonderful comment! I wish i could color with pastels too. :(
Hee, thanks! *hugs icon* I am totally in a SPN/Heroes crossover mood at the moment; I'm working on a Sylar and Cas pic.
Wow, I didn't know the Wet Media brushes could do that! O_o That's *awesome*. I don't use them for coloring, just special effects (and I'm lazy, so I cheat and use Painter instead. See, maybe my jealousy's still well-founded, haha). It does look like traditional media, especially Cas's hair! It's been a while since I used that; I think I've forgotten how to color with pastels. :( Misha's face is hard to get right; he has those spectacular cheekbones that if you get wrong, will mess up the entire facial structure, haha. But I think his face looks fine to me--he still looks like himself. ^o^ I hope you draw more!
Ooh! Sylar and Cas! That'll be cool. I can't wait to see it! Haha.
Really! I tried to use Painter before but i found it much more difficult. O_O Lol I bought a box of pastels last year to try out but they're still unopened til now. Sigh. So far the only traditional media i've gotten around to learn is watercolor painting. I love it but i get too terrified to use it on my drawings cause i'll probably ruin the whole thing. D: Oh yes! His facial structure is so distinct (and pretty), it's inspiring. I just want to draw him more and more. XD
I just noticed that's a chibi Sylar in your page icon! Suh-weet! :D Is that blond Elle? I adore Elle! (I'm still on S2 of "Heroes", though.)
I had Painter at my school but all the brushes seemed so intimidating, so I stayed away for a long time. But then I got attached to a few brushes that I couldn't replicate in Photoshop, and now I use it for most of my coloring. I think it just needs some getting used to. :) I used to do watercolor and oil pastels when I was younger, but I've gotten so used to digital coloring I feel uneasy if there's no "undo" option, lol! Then again I used to scan my drawings and print out copies to color with pastels or whatnot so I didn't mess up the original.
I totally know what you mean about drawing Cas. He's a challenge to draw but incredibly fun and informative at the same time (like Sylar, actually, hehe).
LOL! Did his eyebrows give him away? Haha. Yep it is Elle. I adore her too! And I ship them so much. In fact my obssession with them was what pushed me into drawing fanart.
Yeah i noticed a lot of beautiful digital paintings were done with Painter. Which was why i wanted to learn it. Sigh. But i think you're right, it'll need loads of practice.
Yeah exactly! Sylar has a very distinctive facial structure too. I like to draw his nose. And eyebrows. Haha.
