This year, I learned:
1. How to make friends by smiling (when you don't know the words)
2. How to order at Auntie Dumpling's (more complicated than it sounds)
3. How to get paperwork in order (some of the time)
4. That I make a Kicked Puppy Face, hereinafter designated KPF, which has the effect of making other people think they've grievously hurt me emotionally, when in fact they have not
5. How to censor paranoid thoughts (still working on it, actually)
6. How to not boil over with hatred when I hear some kinds of music
7. What my religion is, really
8. That I'm not so adept at dissembling and creating the appearance of emotions
9. Why american vets are awesome (anesthetics, cleanliness)
10. That cooked pigs' lungs look a hell of a lot like mushrooms, but that confusing them is a regrettable mistake.
