Instead of not simply not including all of the episodes, or a whole season taking up more than just one disk, the bootlegged complete seven seasons of Next Generation on seven disks that I got in China truncates some episodes, so that everything after what would have been the last commercial break of the episode is simply not there.
And disks 2, 4, 6 and 7 made my computer freeze.
It makes me miss Changzhou and the nearly-all illegal DVD store that had so many foreign DVDs, and the DVD player that wouldn't always work and the one that only worked when you flipped it upside down; the electronics repairdude who fixed our DVD player but didn't charge us because he said the volume was still broken, but it wasn't and when we went back he wouldn't take our money; the remote control that ate batteries like mad and had to be struck on the table to work; all the blocked internet sites including lj and any site with mixed drinks recipes; the grouchy photocopy lady; and two pianos on every floor of the school, except the top floor, where there were seven.
I would like to go back to China after all, just to visit. I didn't know it had become home so much.
