back at it
I'm going back into work today for the first time since June 12th...been a great Summer of nothingness...actually, I've been quite busy with one or two meetings a day, a class and guitar lessons, and meditation practice....started painting my bathroom the other day, so my house is torn apart....I feel like I'm ready to start in again...I've decided to say "no" a lot when somebody asks me to serve on this committee or do this or that extra task...to me, my most important task is teaching Spanish...planning interesting lessons and providing immediate feedback to 150 students is a 10 hour a day task at the least...all the extra stuff tends to detract from my primary purpose...I tend to get involved in EVERYTHING, and my teaching suffers...so....let's practice by role playing....you be my boss asking me to serve on a special committee that meets once a week on Weds. morning....here goes---"Joel, would you be willing to serve on the EKBNETTBAP (Enabling kids by not expecting them to bring a pencil) committee....it will only take about ten hours of your time a month....." My response...NO!....Have a great day, babies....
