It’s once again that time of the week when the anti-Johnological Society lets out a series of perturbed bouts of flatulence in preparation for the commencement of this week’s edition of The John Zone!
Yesterday marked the sixty-fifth anniversary of the dropping of the second atomic bomb (Fat Man) over Nagasaki, the first having detonated over Hiroshima several days earlier. It has often been denoted as the most significant day in the history of military warfare. To commemorate this occasion, The John Zone will feature another episode from the BBC documentary series Days that Shook the World, which chronicles events during the Hiroshima strike.
The John Zone will also send many wax figures alight in honor of many birthdays: including Michael Bivins (of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe), 42; Jon Farriss (of INXS), 49; Ian Anderson (of Jethro Tull), 63; Ronnie Spector (of the Ronettes), 67; Eddie Fisher, 82; and the late Bobby Hatfield (of the Righteous Brothers) and Jimmy Dean, who would have been 70 and 82, respectively.
So if your evening is drab and you’re looking for someone to harass, why not find a good spinny chair and tune in to The John Zone tonight at 11PM BST, 6PM EDT, 5PM CDT, 3PM PST, noon HAST, 11AM SST, or on Wednesday at midnight CEST, 2AM MSD, 7AM JST, 8AM EST, 10AM NZST, or noon LINT via either the
ogg or
mp3 relays.
