I'm taking a brief break from writing the second of four papers due this week to catch a French film for extra credit here in Wooten Hall on campus. The first paper, which I turned in yesterday, ended up being four pages. The second is currently seven and is due tomorrow at 2:00. I've been working pretty much nonstop on this one since about 5:30 this morning. I'm ready to punch Kronstadt and Mikhail Tukhachevsky in the face, but at least by working so much today, I've avoided the need for an all-nighter tonight.
The two I'll have left as of this time tomorrow are more or less book reviews for my Chinese history and French Revolution classes. Those papers are currently twenty and twelve pages respectively, and will likely be much longer than that before they're finished. It's very strange going back and forth between them. One minute I'm reading about Marie Antoinette's affair with Axel von Fersen. The next minute it'S Hu Yaobang and Deng Xiaoping going at it over Chinese economic reform in the 1980's.
Yargh. John's holding on tight. It's going to be a bumpy ride, but less than two weeks to go.
