Hello. I figured I'd do a non Harry Potter related post for a change. I've gotten into podcasting recently. It's turned out to be a bit more complicated than I anticipated, but still no too difficult. Podcasts are internet talk shows that you record yourself, upload to the internet, and publish. The main publisher that I know of is iTunes. So I thought I'd try it out. Well, first I needed to figure out how to use Garage Band, which is a type of song mixing software that comes on Apple computers. So I became proficient enough with it yesterday to be able to record my voice and add a little music for the introduction. (Hey, I only started this yesterday.) Anyway, so then I had to find somewhere to upload it to. I found Ourmedia.com. They're free and they let you store audio files. *wOOt* Then I needed somewhere to link to. So I opened a Blogger account. Then I had to figure out how to use html to customize it. I've never used html before. So I made my blog at blogger decently pretty and put up a test audio file. All that remained was to get an RSS feed. So I opened a feedburner account. Now I have an RSS feed on my blogger blog. So now all I need is a podcast, and then I can submit it to iTunes. (I think) I've never done this before. If any of you have, please post. I'd love some tips. Because I'm not very clear on the RSS thing. How exactly do they get the audio file from that? Why can't they just use the atom feed that comes with blogger? So anyway, that's my story. I couldn't use this blog because it doesn't have an individual RSS feed. Plus, I have so much stuff on it it might be hard to find the audio files. I'll post if I actually succeed in publishing a podcast.
