A Polynomial Question

Sep 27, 2005 14:37

From my MI-4 Problem Set:

The Polynomial P(x)= x^3 + ax^2 + bx + c has the property that the mean of it's zeros, the product of it's zeros, and the sum of it's coefficients are all equal. If the y-intercept of the graph of y=P(x) is 2, what is "b"?

Random Bonus:

Evaluate the summation of 4/(n^2 - 4) as n goes from 3 to 40. (No calculators.)
