craziness

Wow, so... So much has happened since I last wrote. A lot of it has been stressful and I'm not really going into detail in this journal. But I've been back in my hometown in MA since Saturday. Arie threw me a surprise "going away party" which was one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me. We went into Philly to The Lucky Strike which is a bowling place/ restaurant/ bar, it's really trendy and fun inside and I'd never seen it before. Once we got upstairs we saw some of his friends there. I thought it was coincidence until more of them started showing up and I realized Arie had set it all up :) We had dinner and drinks, Arie gave me a gorgeous heart necklace...it meant a lot to me. It was sad that it was my last night in Philly but it was such a great night, too.

The next morning he drove me to the airport, and the lines were crazy because of the new ban on liquids in carry-on luggage. The lines were outside of the airport all the way down the sidewalk. It was really hard to say goodbye.

By the time I got through to check my suitcases I had to pay extra for my bag being over the weight limit and I almost missed my flight (they were calling "Laura Wolfe report immediately to gate E9!" over the intercom) but I made it back to Providence. My parents picked me up and we went straight to my aunt's house for my grandpa's 80th birthday surprise! That was fun, they had caterers taking care of all the food - there were lobsters, clam chowder, steamers, corn on the cob and potatoes, and everything was amazing, and I got to see my dad's side of the family including my cousin Becky and her two little girls who I've only met one other time. They said they listen to my Lavender's Blue CD every day :)

When the night was over we drove home to MA and then I packed a bag and went straight to Jess's house to sleep over. Bekah was there and it was SO nice to see the two of them. Tomorrow night I'm seeing all my Holliston girls again and the next day I'm seeing my camp buddies, yay! The next morning, I have a red-eye flight to San Francisco with my family!! I can't believe it's coming so soon. I'm still getting over living my life in Philly behind, after living with my amazing boyfriend for a whole summer, and less than a week later I'm all on my own which is really emotionally confusing, I have to have my messy room completely reorganized and clean and be all packed to move across the country where I don't know anyone at all. Luckily, my parents have been great about helping me get to this point, and they're going to come with me to help me move in. So it'll be a family vacation in CA for a week, which I'm really excited for :) I hope they'll still have a fun vacation even with helping me get settled in my new apartment. And that's the good news - I have an apartment!!!! I'm living in The Fillmore Center with Julia in "the heart of San Francisco" and it's going to be amazing :) I can't wait to get there, and I can't wait until she gets there in like a month! The past couple days have been so crazy I can't even describe it - getting things faxed, calling back and forth between the leasing agent and Julia and my parents, my stomach has literally been in a knot for several hours. But we got everything in and now it's ours, and soon she's calling me back to go over the final details and to tell us our new address :D *cheeer*!!

So in the past hour I've finaly been able to relax - we have a place, it's all going to work out, we just have to order the IKEA furniture and then get ourselves over there. I only really have 2 out of the 5 classes I'm signed up for, but I'll just talk to an advisor when I get there and get the rest of my schedule to work out. I filled out a starbucks application so I can apply as soon as I get there. Hopefully everything is about to work out :)
