I went to see
The Maltese Falcon (with Humphrey Bogart) and there was this one quote that made me laugh :
I couldn't be fonder of you if you were my own son. But, well, if you lose a son, it's possible to get another. There's only one Maltese Falcon.
it made me realise how much I love Film Noir (my friend on the other hand felt asleep...) but I just really wanted to post that quote ! And if I might add another useless comment, how perfect is the name Dashiell Hammett (he wrote the novel and also the script) ? I would fall for anyone named like that.
I started to watch Arrested Development again ! I felt like rewatching the whole show. It was really worth it. Because I feel like it (and because I'm really into quotes right now), some of my favourite quotes from season 1 :
Lucille: I'll be in the hospital bar.
Michael: Uh, you know there isn't a hospital bar, Mother.
Lucille: Well, this is why people hate hospitals.
Michael: Hey, Mom. Remember we had that conversation about trying to cut back on things that aren't necessities?
Lucille: Like it was yesterday.
Michael: It was this morning.
Lucille: You're my third least favorite child.
Michael: I can live with that.
Buster: And I'm going to continue dating, Mom.
Michael: It sounds a little bit like "dating Mom."
Buster: It's starting to feel a little like it.
Barry Zuckerkorn: It would help if you would all show up looking like a loving, supportive family.
Lucille: For how long?
Barry Zuckerkorn: Ten minutes tops.
Lucille: See if you can get it down to five.
Lindsay: Where's Nana?
Lucille: I sent her on a wonderful cruise. You just missed a wonderful call from her. She just came back from a wonderful costume party that the captain threw. She gained ten pounds, there's so much food on that boat. She's up to 74. She tried pesto for the first time. Imagine that, 92 years old and she never tried pesto. It was wonderful. Just wonderful.
Narrator: In fact, Lucille's mother had been dead for six months.
I have to confess that I'm still avidly watching The Vampire Diaries.
I can never resist a good hug and some brotherly love - especially when both things involve Demon Salvatore. I can't help providing some pictures :

I'm really silly. I saw the episode this morning, loved it, went back to my book and that's when it stroke me that what happened to Demon was so sad and I felt heartbroken out of nowhere. I'm not saying anything else because I don't want to sound too shallow/silly/ridiculous/excited but I really do sound that way when it comes to that show (among other things). I always have a good time.
Now, I want to finish A Single Man by Christopher Isherwood (really good book) that I started this morning. Only a few pages before the end. I don't know if you've seen
the trailer for the film adaptation by Tom Ford ? I think the trailer is absolutely gorgeous. The
film looks really good. I can't wait !
