Happy new year everyone ! 2010 started very nicely : I received a beautiful christmas card on Saturday. Thank you again my dear
kels450 . It's already on my pin board. Cards make me so happy.
sullypants asked what could make us cry instantly and I've tried to think about it. This is what crossed my mind today (but to be honest there is probably a lot more : I cry easily depending on my mood) :
# Titanic. I know, I should really be ashamed of myself. The scene when Rose is about to leave the ship on an emergency boat and she looks at Jack and there's the music starting... that's exactly when I start to cry.
# The scene from Friends (episode 16, season 3) when Ross and Rachel break up. You know what I'm talking about.
# It's very recent but you've got to know that my life consists in watching old episodes of The Office, again and again. Again and again. That's why I think I have the right to say the Wedding episode from The Office. (Especially "but I think that even then I knew that I was waiting for my wife" and "The boat was actually Plan C, the church was Plan B, and Plan A was marrying her a long time ago. Pretty much the day I met her").
# Hurt sung by Johnny Cash
#
Ständchen (lieder) by Franz Schubert sung by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau
# Nocturne for Violin and Piano by Frédéric Chopin
# The collection of poems by Jacques Roubaud entitled
Some Thing Black (if read from beginning to end)
# The poems by Yves Bonnefoy featured in the part entitled "The House were I was born" from "Les Planches courbes" (
the 7th in particular but I guess it's better read as a part from the collection)
What song, book, film, tv show makes you cry ?
In an unrelated topic (well you can add this to the things that make me cry list actually) I think anything lemon is definitely my favourite thing in the world to eat. I already knew lemon macarons were my favourite pastry but it now competes with lemon pie. I ate a delicious lemon pie on new year's eve (a friend of Mathilde's made one) and my mom made another one this weekend.
