Ichigo has a fluent tongue when it came to Shakespeare.
Orihime always found it fascinating as she watched him. The way he spoke, his hand movements, the piercing look in his eyes. They all somewhat reminded her of Ichigo’s determination in battle. It was a different type of devotion, less urgent and with a subtle form of passion. But it was there, making her blush slightly at its intensity. She wondered how much of this interest would surprise other people. Anyone could close their eyes and would be fooled into thinking he was a junior lecturer excitedly repeating lines to an awed and silent class.
Well, right until their eyes opened and saw a young man with bright orange hair.
"Romeo and Juliet recycle’s the earlier themes ill-fated lovers," Ichigo explained, facing her directly. "You'd find the myths of Layla and Majnun, Hero and Leander pretty much did the same thing."
He scratched his head in slight irritation. Orihime still watched intently.
"It's one of his recycled ones you see." He concluded, snapping the book shut. "Shakespeare liked looking back on old stuff and reinventing it."
Orihime beamed in return. "Like you."
Ichigo only shrugged in response "Not really...well I guess so, if you think Shakespeare is boring..."
"OH NO!" Orihime leapt nearly spilling the drink in her lap "I think you're really fascinating! I mean Shakespeare-....but well you as well!'
Her heart seemed to flutter more. As she looked up at him, it only seemed to do so faster.
'T-the way you're passionate...and it's really cool! Not a lot of people...not a lot of boys..."
"I get the point." Ichigo said frowning but smiled soon afterwards. Orihime sat back down and grinned in response, patting the space beside her. The orange-haired boy looked at her and then to the blue sky.
He sat down.
"I think he wrote it using iambic pentameter." He whispered, taking another look at the book in question. "Everything seems to flow together."
"Hmmm..."
"Its not my favourite too be honest." Ichigo mused, now dropping the book once more. "I know it's popular but, I prefer Antony and Cleopatra."
He turned to Orihime with a softened look. She smiled back in return, the softness and brightness mimicking words he had read before.
"There's beggary in the love that can be reckon'd." he said coolly, his voice barely above a whisper. Orihime recalled the line before placing her fingers into his open palm.
"Antony said that, didn't he?"
"Yeah." The orange haired boy smirked, "What a moron."
He squeezed her small fingers in return.
