Christmas '09

Christmas this year was so awesome!  It was the first time in three years that Billy was home.  The simplest things seemed so amazing, like decorating the Christmas tree, or watching It's a Wonderful Life together.  Or having someone to sneak in the kitchen and steal Christmas cookies that weren't done yet.  Or driving around in the Blazer at midnight looking for people to pull out of ditches during the first heavy snowfall.  Or watching old family slides. I'd like to add sledding to this list, but there hasn't been enough snow that stays.  It makes the intense cold totally worth it!

"...the world's finest METAL TREE!"  A church in town was throwing this tree away...probably because it has the ability to maim people who fall into it.  Metal skewers wrapped in foil.  That's all it is.  I looked it up, and I guess this tree 40-50 years old!

Handmade ornaments.

A laser that goes for a mile.

Gingerbread house.  One that you can actually eat!  Homemade gingerbread logs and roof pieces, homemade icing, dried cherries and raisins.

These guys also made their dough from scratch.  Their fort/castle/lair was pretty amazing in the end.

Christmas cousins + Grandpa.

Billy picks on the new guy.
