Relationship: One of Sasuke's students. Her over-eagerness annoys him, but he admires her determination to prove herself. He was like that once.

Relationship: Sasuke's feelings toward his older brother are wretched and complicated. Up until Edelweiss he'd spent every waking moment of his life hating the man, and had just exacted his revenge on him before being sent to the institution. In Edelweiss, Sasuke was stripped down to a shredded ghost of himself, and Itachi started to become something of a fond memory-- Something tethering him to sanity, along with the memories of his teammates. Seeing Itachi in the Port, after all that mental stress and torture, didn't incite the reaction Sasuke thought it would. To him, Itachi is still dead. This new Itachi is just that memory walking around. Sasuke really isn't sane anymore.

Relationship: As a member of Sasuke's 'family' from Edelweiss, Jack is an incontrovertible part of his life. He has an intimate understanding of the horrors of the institution. They disagree often, but Jack is one of the few people who can talk Sasuke down from his fits of rage and talk sense into him. He's also responsible for keeping Sasuke alive throughout his first few weeks in Siren's Port.

Relationship: Inside, Sasuke knows Madara is related to him. Will he ever accept that fact? No. Sasuke is determined to keep his family enshrined in his heart, to preserve their memory, and he thinks Madara is out to shit all over that. There is a tiny part of him that's tempted by what Madara offers him, and Sasuke deals with that by behaving as callously as possible toward the older man.

Relationship: Maya has an energy that gets on Sasuke's nerves, but her positivity is something from which he can really benefit. She reminds him of what it's possible to be.

Relationship: Naruto is something like a physical part of Sasuke that he wishes he could remove without bleeding to death. The boy is a permanent part of his life, from the beginning, and no matter how hard Sasuke tries he can't seem to separate himself from him. In Siren's Port, Naruto is different-- Sasuke senses that, but he's different too. It's those differences, perhaps, that make it so that they can exist together again. Sasuke still feels like an outsider, though, because Naruto has a family into which he isn't welcome. That's fine, though. He thinks.

Relationship: Nelliel reached out to Sasuke suddenly and inexplicably, and now she's one of the only people who knows what happened to him in Edelweiss and just how fractured he's become.

Relationship: Sasuke despises Orochimaru. As far as he's concerned, the Sannin represents an ugly part of him that he wants to forget. As long as Orochimaru is around, Sasuke feels like he can never escape who he used to be, and it unsettles him horribly. He copes by being as acidic as possible to the man, and avoiding him when it gets to be too much.

Relationship: Reeve makes Sasuke feel and act his age. The older man was the hero of Edelweiss, the one who took the younger patients under his wing, and Sasuke was a reluctant addition to his adopted children. Sasuke can cry to Reeve. He can break down and curl up in his arms and shake like a child. He can let many layers peel off and crumble away without hating himself, because Reeve is his father. And Sasuke is a child.

Relationship: Another member of Sasuke's Edelweiss family, Rin has the same level of trust and friendship in Sasuke that Jack has. Rin has the undeniable ability to put Sasuke in his place, and he finds it very difficult to deny her anything. He sees her as a sister of sorts, but he isn't sure; he's never had a sister before. If he did, though, it would be her. He teaches her self-defense because she asked for it, but he also believes in her and is desperate for her to survive.

Relationship: Sasuke's feelings for Sakura are, arguably, less complicated than his feelings for Naruto, but that doesn't mean they aren't confusing. The first time Sakura had been to SP had been the first time he'd seen her in years, and she'd been so quick to accept him into her heart again. It had been jarring, how much he'd wanted to lean against her like he used to, and when she'd left he'd broken down so badly he can barely remember what had happened. Now she's back, and damaged. The wild look in her eyes reminds him of his own, and he feels like a wall has broken down between them. No longer is she struggling to understand him, opening up her arms and accepting something she can never really have. Now they share something. They're on the same level. He isn't sure how to feel about that, but he knows that if this one leaves, he might level more than just a city block.

Relationship: They'd brushed past each other in their own world, but Sasuke had always known Shikamaru. He'd always known there was something more to him that he wasn't picking up on, and he remembers Naruto saying something about his friends almost dying to bring him back. He sees Shikamaru with Naruto now, and he gets it. In his absence, Naruto has found new friends. He's found a new family. They're the people that stayed after Sasuke left. He hates it.

Relationship: Sasuke will never tell Sirius what he thinks of him. In fact, he'll never tell anyone what he thinks of Sirius. Why would be ever admit that he actually likes this pretentious, obnoxious, thick-headed little-- No, there's no reason for it, not at all. So Sasuke won't be telling anyone that he wants Sirius to be safe, and that he makes him laugh sometimes, and that he hopes he can take care of Jack better than he can. Never.

Relationship: Soul had no problem admitting that he trusted Sasuke, and that confused him. He's never really given anyone a reason to trust him-- So Soul had to have been lying, right? Still, it felt good to hear that. It feels good to have someone drag him out to socialize once in a while. It feels good to have a friend.

Relationship: Yako can't fight and Sasuke knows that. He wants to teach her, though, because she wants to learn. And that's all one really needs in the end.
