what ever

If I could take it back.
If it cost me my life,
If it cost me my soul
I wouldn’t hesitate to give it up.
To turn away from every thing I am.
To let it all fade into a void,
Let myself disappear.
All to reclaim one moment,
To change on second of the past.
To un-write those ignorant words,
Say “no, it’s not true”.
To listen to the truth in my heart
Rather than the imprudent words in my head.
If you said that there was a way,
If you asked for my head on a silver platter
I would cut it off myself
And use my blood to buy the dish.
If you asked for the stars
I would hold them in my hand,
Let them burn through my flesh.
If there were a penance great enough,
An arduous pilgrimage to take,
Or a cleansing painful enough,
I would undertake it.
Brave it all for you.
Gladly give up my humanity.
Commit unspeakable horrors
Upon myself,
The innocent world
And God among his host.
All of this and more
To take away your pain,
To stop your eyes from crying.
To hold you in the dark.
To say,
Once more into your sleeping ear,
I love you.
