Sooooo glad you're back. 'but what mattered was Dean warm and alive in his arms, and Sam sitting there with him, and the quiet of the morning and the promise of light.' AWWWWW! The best line.

Thank-you! ...I may have stumbled on the title of the very last chapter of this fic with that last line ^_^ although it sort of feels incredibly weird to be thinking about the last chapter of this fic at all...

Brilliant chapter! I loved this to pieces! Dean was awesome kicking Sam's ass, honestly, and the gorgeous, perfect, thankfully evil-free ending made it all right for me to cheer for the evil, smirking demon-controlled Dean. He was very on edge, very dangerous. I love how Sam found the way to draw him in alone to free him and I'm so very, very glad that he's as ok as can be expected after all that. Poor thing being punished and collared and all. Stupid demons deserved the hunters' convention that was expecting them.

I can't wait for the next bit, whenever it comes :) I'm just in love with this story, if you can't already tell...

Thank-you! I really did enjoy evil!Dean as well. It's something that I think has gone untapped in canon. We've seen possessed and semi-evil!Sam, but no evil!Dean, just emotionally screwed-up Dean, who's not that different from regular Dean, only more noticeably emotionally screwed-up. So, I am shamelessly using my own fanfiction to explore what he would be like (preeeetty ...) sorry, you lost me for a moment ^_-

The angst is far from over, we're not even half-way through it. But there are warm and fuzzies on the way as well, so it should all balance-out in the end. I'm working on the next chapter, but I am also planning to head-back to the cottage, so we'll see which happens first...

on wether Sam was going to get him back. Course your evil self will probably pull another heart attack enducing scene out your sleeve leaving me in need of an ER visit.

Can't wait for more. I love Sophia and John is going to be beyond pissed.

lol, man, you trust me so little? *is wounded* *licks wounds* I promise no ER will be necessary, I have other plans for our boys. *cackles* I couldn't leave Sophia out of this fic, she wanted to come back into it (and she's quite vociferous). And also? What makes you think John's going to find out? ...at least for a while? I'm working on the next installment!!

Beautiful, just beautiful.

Sam and his plans; I ache for him, I was physically twisting in my seat, rooting for him.

Sam let his eyes fall closed and thought of Dean's laughter - warm and alive and all consuming, of Dean's kisses, of his moans, of the feel of his body under Sam's fingertips. He decided that, whatever the cost, it had been worth it.Such a true sentiment, true love, oh, Sammy. You really got me with Dean's speech about who the real evil is - such an interesting point, and part of me can't blame Dean for thinking that, once the demons maybe poisoned him with that thought, mixed with the pain already of Sam not trusting him with the truth, of all of his fears, and so I thought that was a wonderful (albeit so hard to hear!) touch ( ... )

I'm so happy you enjoyed this chapter!! I really did put the boys through the wringer and it was pretty hard to write it. I think for Dean, he hasn't had a lot of interaction with people, just because of how life in Fitchburg was for him, and he's only had literally a handful of people he could trust and depend on. Hearing that there was information that Sam didn't share with him was a huge blow to his growing trust in Sam, and so his defenses went-up. Sam's got work on that account. So for Dean, he does feel like he's giving-in a lot, mainly because Sam is the one who's really leading the show, he knows his way around hunts he has the resources (including the friends/people), so every time that Dean does give a little something, it feels like ten times as much, because he doesn't really have control of what he's doing (something that was underscored by Sam withholding information from him ( ... )
