Oh, wow. I love this idea. Most Jess and Sam fics I’ve read have Jessica as this semi-Mary person, or as if she is the only woman Sam will ever love, you know. She doesn’t really seem to have much of a personality in most fics outside of the fact that she loves Sam in a kind of Romeo and Juliet way. This pairing just breaths fated lovers torn apart in tragedy, and that’s the way the Show has it, of course, to give Sam a crushing enough reason to go back into the hunting lifestyle and stay there, at least initially. And some of them were quite good reads ( ... )

It is something that I thought about for a while. You always get the boys' perspective, but Jess is just a plot device. On the one hand it makes it easy to use her in fanfic because you can essentially make of her what you will, but somehow I never saw everything playing-out so straightforward for Sam even if Jessica had never died.

I intend to torture Sam quite a bit in this fic. A slight change from torturing Dean but still quite satisfying, I should think. ^_^

LOL Thanks so very much. And I do agree about Jess. It is actually something sort of disappointing to me that a lot of the girls that get introduced on the show don't really get a lot of depth or range, and I always wondered what would have happened if Dean hadn't showed-up and Jess hadn't died and all that. I don't imagine Jess getting married and settling down at 23 (I may just be projecting though) even if it is with Sam.
