Room 505; Saturday Evening after the party

May 25, 2013 18:14

At some point during the party, Emily had felt like standing up and walking (more like swaying) out. She wasn't even tired of people, as she felt she might, but the charged ambient was already taking its toll on her. That and the drinks.

She wasn't entirely sure of how long it took her to get back to her room, but once she was there she kicked her shoes out...and sat by the edge of her bed, on the floor. She just stayed there in silence, eyes closed and nothing but the sound of her breath filling her ears. She was happy, much to her surprise. It had been a nice evening, and she had almost needed no acting on her part at all. Sure, there were some people that still had her in contempt, but all in all it had felt the way Emily had imagined a night with friends should.

Emily allowed herself to bask in what her common sense (drowsy as it was) called a moment of weakness. Considering the way she was going to be living her life after Fandom, she might need more nights like the one she had just had to keep her sane.

Nights like these, she couldn't be mad at Fandom.

[ Open door, open post. Gotta have some introspection now and then. Emily is somewhere beyond tipsy but not downright drunk, so she might be "looser" than usual. Whatever that means. ]
