Egad, I’m tired today. Midsummer was both a lot of fun and a lot of work this year.
irenejericho has the full review up at
cassyndrome for perusal. Some bumps with our show, but I think that’s to be expected when playing out of doors and temperatures drop around 10-15 degrees, maybe more, during the course of your set. We could see our breath at the end! Isn’t this supposed to be June?
Still, we had a lot of fun, with lots of interesting interplay amongst the acts on Saturday.
Ben Schuman had an awesome set, supported by rotating percussionists from amongst the other bands, yours truly included. Then
the Dreamscapes Project, whom had a great set themselves, closed their set with a medley which ended in the “Song that never ends,” during which they rotated off stage as we rotated on and took over. ;) Then, as we were closing with “Wild”, Keith and Eric from TDP came sneaking on stage playing cowbells and dancing around like Will Ferrell in that "Don't Fear the Reaper" skit. LOL
All of this was followed with lots of drinking and drumming, of course, along with some awesome post-show pasta provided by
cinderlou. :) Plus Patty was there visiting from Illinois, along with Ingrid and the most beautiful baby in the world, Isadora, from Arizona. It was just a wonderful time, all in all. And now I’m at work, still exhausted and sore from the weekend (my back is being cranky), and I keep finding that I’m having trouble paying attention to my work. But I’m pretty happy about it. ;)
