And so it begins…

Yeah, yeah, I know, I keep not updating and keeping up with the LJ thing lately.  I’ve been keeping rather busy, and have actually been spending a lot of time doing research on proper mixing and recording techniques.  Good stuff, but there’s lots to learn.

Anyhoo, the Cassandra Syndrome show schedule continues to fill up, and the summer gig season is about to begin.  It’s definitely going to be busy.  :)  Kicking things off this Saturday will be the FSA “Sacred Sexuality” Beltane Festival at Camp Ramblewood in Darlington, Maryland.  Should be an excellent time, and the festival itself sounds like a lot of fun in of itself.  We’re taking the stage around 8 or 9pm, I think, and will be playing two sets.

Following that, we’ll be playing the DC Midnight event next Saturday, May 5th, in NW Washington, DC, and there will be taking the stage around 11-11:30pm.  Having been to DC Midnight last month, I can pretty much guarantee that this one will be an awesome event, as the organizers for this one are absolutely fantastic, and really know how to throw a party.  I’m already hoping that they’ll have us back again!  ;)  In that vein, if you’re in town for that weekend, we’d love to see lots of friendly faces in the audience for that one.  :)

Alright, short semi-sappiness to end this up.  After practice last night, I just wanted to say that I’m immeasurably happy with the chemistry of the band right now, both personally and musically.  The evolution of a band is an interesting thing, and I think we only continue to get tighter and more precise, but at the same time, exploring new musical boundaries and ideas.  I really feel like we’ve got something special here, ya know?  And I’m immensely proud of not only everyone in the band, but of all the wonderful people who comprise the ‘Asylum Crew’, running sound, taking pictures, shooting video, selling CDs, taking inventories, helping us keep our heads on straight, designing album covers, being immensely supportive of this crazy habit by coming to shows and photo shoots, as well as everything else you’ve all done and I’ve forgotten to mention, up to and *especially* including dancing like Muppets.  ;)  I just wanted to say that you all rock.

stuff, cassandra syndrome, shows, duck season, gig season, asylum crew, fsa, dc midnight, muppets
