Good things come in 3s
1. The car thievery incident has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Due to the extent of the damage, our insurance company is going to write it off as totaled and cut us a check to the tune of approx. $5200. Several months ago, someone sideswiped it and, tho the damage looked ugly, it was all cosmetic, and the insurance had paid us $1800 to fix it (only ever spent $500ish toward the repairs). Kory figures we can get $1500 out of the remaining autoparts. The best part of this all: we got an insanely good deal when we bought this sucker ($4400), so we'll end up profiting off this cursed vehicle by over $3.5k. Fuck yeah. This'll allow us to get a "nicer" (low milage) car, probably some make of Mazda.
2. My best friend Rachel--who currently lives in Sacramento--is coming to visit me Friday/Saturday/maybeSunday. Yay!!! Haven't seen her in the flesh for a year. I've gotten involved with her RPGing group using Skype, but that program can be annoyingly buggy. It'll be really good to hang out properly. Am considering planning a trip down to visit her in November (and maybe shoot with some mid-soCal models at the same time).
3. For one of my few custom-commissioned-clothes-allowances this year, I chose a really wicked ruffled shrug made in dark blue/black brocade, and it arrived yesterday :D I feel totally badass in this outfit. The fabric is much more luxurious than my webcam can capture:
