HARPER, WISCONSIN
A small, unimportant town in Wisconsin that harkens back to the good old days were everyone knew everyone else’s name and crime was a world away. Newcomer Harlow Buchannan has recently moved to the quiet town for reasons she won’t discuss, attracting the attention of some of the prominent members of the town. A big business corporation is looking to buy up the town and turn it into a mall while the Mayor and the Sheriff are attempting to bring Harper into more modern times. descendant of Harper’s founder, Alex has been raised with a silver spoon in his mouth. He’s a decent guy, though. When the gruesome murders begin the people of Harper look to him as their unanimous leader and Alex takes to it naturally
MAGGIE GRACE as DELANEY HUMPHREY, the Good Girl
Alex Harper’s longtime girlfriend and the daughter of Harper’s mayor, Delaney wants nothing more than to escape her town. She feels threatened by Harlow and Alex’s friendship and makes it no secret that she’d do anything to keep Harlow away from her boyfriend
MISHA COLLINS as MAYOR QUINN HUMPHREY, the Mayor
Harper’s beloved Mayor, Quinn is an easy-going, harmless short of guy who is more concerned with is wife’s illness than actually running his town. He’s best friends with the town sheriff and has no problem leaving the running of Harper in his capable hands
TIMOHTY OLYPHANT as SHERIFF FARRIS QUAY, the Sheriff
a young, progressive sheriff, Farris wants nothing more than to move Harper onward, despite the protest from many of the residents. He’s good friends with the mayor, though, so he has the run of the town. At heart, he’s a family man who loves his wife and his son, and just wants to keep them and his town safe
JONATHON BENNETT as WES ELLIOT, the Bad Boy
Harper’s resident bad boy, he lives on the edge of town with his father running an engine repair shop, the only one in town. Wes seems to hold a grudge against Harper for reasons he won’t go into. He and his father are two of Harper’s most notorious residents and are clearly not welcome by most in town. Some start to wonder if he's not bad enough to murder
MATTHEW FOX as WAYNE ELLIOT, the Pariah
either Wayne shunned Harper, or Harper shunned Wayne, no one’s really sure. But Wayne hasn’t shown his face in town for the last fifteen years. He runs the only nearby engine repair shop, however, so people most reluctantly come to him. He’s hiding secrets, though, big ones. Deadly ones
EMILY BLUNT as MALLORY QUAY, the Sheriff's Wife
Farris’s wife, Emily runs the local diner and is well loved by nearly everyone who meets her. She’s on very good terms with the Mayor but doesn’t seem to share her husband’s progressive thinking. She’s one of the few people who look out for Wes Elliot, making lunches and dinners for him and his father
COLIN FORD as ETHAN QUAY, the Kid
the sheriff of Harper’s only son Ethan is bright, probably too bright for his own good. Ethan has begun idolizing bad boy Wes Elliot, much to his father’s horror
KYLE GALLNER as SHAUN HUMPHREY, the Prodigal Son
the mayor’s brilliant but aloof son who has returned from college for the winter break. He doesn’t seem to like anyone in town and spends most of his time alone
DANA DELANEY as ELIZABETH HUMPHREY, the Dying Woman
the mayor’s wife who is rarely seen in town. She has been diagnosed with cancer and has decided that instead of taking a radical chemo therapy with a twenty percent chance of success she will spend the last of her life in the town she loves with the man she loves
LAUREN GRAHAM as SHANNA HARPER, the Grieving Widow
widow of the town’s namesake, Shanna has thrown herself into the position of weeping widow and enjoys her ability to lord it over the town. Despite that, the town loves her
TAYLOR KITSCH as RAY MANNING, the Ex
introduced as Harlow’s ex-husband, he and Harlow seem to have a very violate relationship. So much so that the sheriff has to be called to intervene during an argument between the two. A day later, the murders start
EVANGELINE LILLY as SASHA MONROE, the Bartender
a badass bade who handles her liquor as well as she handles her gun. She isn’t a native, but Harper seems to put up with her as she runs the very popular bar, The Backstabber, and doesn’t mind following most of Harper’s rules
