November & December's shared priorities:
recover Morse case and finish Secret Project
get all not-mine sewing machines done and out of the house
rearrange sewing room; make collage materials more accessible
November already! The first weekend of the month was early, and not too busy. Friday night I did a little crochet. Saturday I had my pattern drafting group and made a tiny bit of progress on my jacket pattern, plus picked out fabric for a quilting class I'd signed up for. After getting home I ironed that fabric and zigzagged and washed some other Sew-op fabric I'd picked up to make a new lightweight jacket for myself. I also re-sized three of the remaining raffle bags, one to become another sewing bag and two for writing implements, and pulled out a bunch of materials that can be used to decorate them. That evening I crocheted instead, though, and finished a small basket to be a gift.
Sunday I had the whole big day stretching out in front of me. I had my usual chores plus processing three pumpkins into puree, but I still managed to sew a tall, thin bag. I'd rolled my ironed fabric for class so it wouldn't wrinkle and then realized I had no way to transport it in that state!
That week I'm not sure I did any crafting to speak of, but the next weekend I took the quilting class, wherein I sewed a patchwork needlebook. I crocheted something for the Secret Project, plus most of another small basket, finishing the last bit during the following week.
*That* week was also busy, with a good number of evening engagements, so other than that little bit of crochet I did not craft until the weekend again; we're now at the weekend before Thanksgiving. Friday night I started a scarf which will likely not be for me ultimately. Saturday was my 8th crochetiversary and I try to do something special, though my track record is spotty. I did this year, though, making a pen sleeve to attach to my planner cover. The backing was slip stitch crochet and the front was moss stitch; Sunday I redid a little of the perimeter and added braided loops to slide around the cover. It's not perfect but it will do.
Later Sunday I cleaned the one sewing machine that I hadn't done anything to yet and discovered afterward that its bobbin hook was out of time, and I didn't have time to fix it that moment. That was it until Wednesday night, when I did some crochet, and again Friday night with more crochet. I spent time in the sewing room Friday afternoon but it was mostly puttering, and also discovering the wallpaper I bought for the Morse case was not cut into usable sizes...
Saturday I puttered more, sorting through things and getting rid of things, and that evening started going through my stack of magazines and pulling items for collage. Sunday I re-timed the bobbin hook but mostly did housework.
Monday I was off work, with houseguests in the morning and plans for a couple of errands. I was also tired! But at the end of the day I conceived and glued up a new collage. There were only weekdays left in November, so I trimmed and flattened the collage but didn't do other crafting.
