March's priorities:
Alterations to two new pairs of work pants
Finish fixing serger on workbench
Post something interesting on the blog
Prep new handout for next Machine Care workshop

The first week/end of the month I worked hard on a needle felted keychain, but it wasn't quite the right proportions so I put it aside (after getting really mad about it for a while). I had a dev conference early in the month and had been hoping to have it for that, but it was not to be. Instead I worked out a crochet headband pattern that became the "something interesting" for the blog for purposes of resolutions.

I also got two other craft posts scheduled, about the latest round of crochet baskets (going back a while) and the technique to sew buttons by machine. And I got the handout prepared for my workshop! However, at that point we were well over halfway through the month.

I did some work on machines in the Sew-op, and stared at the serger a while, and tried unsuccessfully to find some help online for fixing it. I also got new workbench lighting that should help immensely with my sewing machine repair goals.

The last two nights of the month I started and worked on a new crochet basket, having been seized by the desire for another one while clearing away my needle felting project supplies. On the last day I tried Citrasolv image transfer with very limited success. Our new laser printer doesn't have terribly high print quality; I may be able to change settings to improve it, I don't know, but my transfer was blurry and weak.

On the last day of the month I also ironed fabric and did some cutting - some of the fabric for an apron and all of the fabric for five (!) pairs of boxers. I'm doing an April Challenge to complete 8 projects that will cease taking up space once they are done. The apron and boxers are on the list of projects that count, so having some cutting done should help.

March's craft spending:
6 needle felting needles (lost this receipt... call it $13)
piping cord for upcoming pillow gift ($6.97)
lace, twill tape, and black fabric for apron gift ($11.06)
sewing machine oil for Sew-op ($6.99)
remnant for stash ($3.93)
100% wool felt for stash (for needle felting core construction) ($8.75 for basically a lifetime supply)
more 100% wool for needle felting and sewing machine repair (spool pads and oil wicks) ($13.95, again for a lifetime supply)

March's completions:
chain-link crochet headband
updated Machine Care handout

April's priorities:
Work pants alterations (2 pair)
Repair/cleaning of all 3 Sew-op machines in house
April Challenge: 8 space-taking projects completed (the 5 listed above all count)

papercraft, crochet, teaching
