A Pack-Rat's Triumph (2011 can be 2005 all over again . . . sort of)
I've been looking for something to cheer me up, and I just realized that -- although there is once again no Spike calendar for 2011, as there hasn't been for the past couple of years -- I can re-use the Spike calendar and the AtS calendar I've saved from 2005, the last time that January 1st fell on a Saturday.
Yay!
I mean, I wouldn't want to live the actual year 2005 all over again, but it's awfully nice to be able to dust off my pretty, pretty pictures of Spike in that old calendar and hang them on the wall of my cubicle.
I can't exactly remember why I bought the AtS calendar that year, except of course it did have a couple of pictures of Spike, as well as Fred and the other cast members from season 5. Oh, that's right: the company that made and sold those calendars gave you a discount if you ordered several at the same time. I knew the reason would have something to do with my basic cheapness.
Too bad I'd already ordered both the BtVS and Xena: Warrior Princess calendars for 2011 before I thought to look through my old ones for a recycled model.
Oh, well -- even if I don't get as much use out of them next year, I'm sure those 2011 calendars will come in handy again sometime in the future. And I can always hang the new Xena calendar on one wall of my cubicle, hang the old Spike calendar on the opposite wall, and keep the new BtVS calendar for home use.
Or maybe I should rotate them, according to which one has the nicest picture of a favorite hero of mine that month (that's the one that should go right next to my computer monitor, obviously).
Doesn't take much to thrill me, does it? :)
