Like I said last time "Slamdangle, Christmas!"
I can't believe it's all coming so fast!
First of all, let me say that I posted pics of project D&D 3000 in the previous entry (finally).
Also finally, I have uploaded the pics from Halloween. Check em out on my Picasa:
Halloween 2008My Thanksgiving was pretty great, as always. I saw the parade get
Rick Roll'd, which was awesome! Had a fine meal at my Aunt & Uncle's place. Probably too fine, since it was all I really ate that day. I stopped by my step-family's place for a bit and then hung out with Nicki's fam for a little while. Hope everyone else had a good one as well.
Last Saturday I was feeling hungry, but in a man-sized way. Thus Manfast was born unto us:
Yum yum! It's half a can of beef chili with a fried slice of real german summer sausage (none of that Hillshire Farms crap), topped with a fried egg sprinkled with Bacon Salt and parmesean cheese.
Holy crap was that good!
In a humorous twist, Nicki was eating an egg on oat nut toast with tomato and an orange on the side. Night & day, man.
It must've been the weekend of odd breakfast because Nicki was hell bent on finishing the excessive amount of shepherd's pie we had in the fridge and came up with the idea of shepherd's pie cakes. I was hesitant but ultimately figured "what the hell?". I mixed two eggs in with a bowl of shepherd's pie and formed them into cake's. They were sort of like shepherd's pie latkes.
In D&D news (cuz I'm sure everyone cares, lol) we finished Kyle's IK game Friday! It was a pretty epic conclusion, with a fight against a robot-lich and then a bigger fight with an ancient dragon god. It was a good time.
Tuesday we finished my Ravenloft game, as well. It's the month to finish campaigns, I guess, since we're likely to finish Harry's sometime soon as well. It's funny because they all started at different times, but all more than a year ago. The conclusion of the Ravenloft game was pretty great, if a little drawn out. The gang went up against Strahd, the ancient vampire lord of Barovia, for a final battle that culminated on the rain-slicked walkway eighty feet above the courtyard of castle Ravenloft. They chased him back to his crypt where they stuffed garlic in his mouth, staked him and cut his head off. Strahd's reign of terror has come to an end, finally! Or has it...
OK, you can start reading again:)
I've been on vacation all week, so we've gotten plenty of Christmas stuff done! We put up lights the other day and decorated our tree Tuesday night.
Hopefully we'll get the rest fo the stuff up today, as well as finishing our shopping! It's nice being off of work prior to Christmas, having time to get all this stuff done.
Speaking of which, I'm off to do just that. Hope everyone has a great holiday!
