what the hell is going on?
how is it possible for people to honestly believe and think that the military commissions act is not only good for america but essential? how can someone seriously believe that by giving up habeas corpus and by allowing the executive branch of the government to have true and ultimate executive power in establishing who was good or bad, who was a loyal citizen or who was an enemy of the state, and what he can do to those people, and many other true injustices are protecting the american way of life? i don't understand.
i also don't understand how people could honestly look at this administration and feel they are not only doing their job, but doing a good job? it seems to me that since 2000 all we have had happen is a complete ruin of the economy, the american educational system, a rash wave of racist/sexist/homophobic/anti-Semitic policies and rhetoric, the deaths of over 10,000 american citizens because of incompetence and war, and now the complete and total destruction of our civil liberties and our constitution.
WE HOLD THESE TRUTHS TO BE SELF EVIDENT, THAT ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL, AND THAT THEY ARE ENDOWED BY THEIR CREATOR WITH CERTAIN INALIENABLE HUMAN RIGHTS, SUCH AS LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS....
yet we cannot choose when we die, we cannot choose what can believe/say/do, and we are definitely denied happiness and all three have been replace by ignorance, poverty, injustice, and fear. unless of course you are a republican campaign contributor...then you get a nice golf outing and a sexy IM from congress...
