Second day of ESR implementation.
The workstructures module does not work properly, which is not exactly news. It didn't work during testing, but we were promised that it was just a glitch with the testing environment. Like hell. But never mind, we're here now and that's all there is to it. Good news is that out of the 123 missing positions only 20-30 have to be re-created, the rest are there, our employees just became separated from them during the changeover from the testing environment to the real one. Reassuring this is not. Yesterday was too frantic to take a lunch break, so today I was determined to go out for a run.
Started off with Pam, who doesn't really run any more, but used to, and is very knowledgeable on the subject. I have been trying out this thing she suggested, which basically entails not dragging my feet when going uphill. Long strides, use your arms, don't run flat out but keep a steady pace. It works, but I got fairly knackered. Still, I went faster and it only hurt marginally more than usual.
Thought I was due for a salsa night tonight, so I texted Linda to find out. She was in Oxford. And she'd told me on Friday, too. Must resolve to listen in future. Never mind, ballroom night tomorrow, and we're due to finish the tango routine. I quite like taking now, I wasn't too convinced at first but it is actually quite interesting. Very different from the women's steps, and not just because of the obvious. I think I might need lower heeled shoes though, some of the figures are a bit too dodgy on high heels.
