Dream Job

Google has opened an office in Pittsburgh and is hiring software engineers (http://www.google.com/support/jobs/bin/answer.py?answer=31585&src=engpittsburgh). Google is considered a dream job among developers because of its internet status but mainly because of its reputation for the way it loves it employees. The famous 'Burgh blogger PittGirl toured the new campus (http://thatschurch.com/2010/02/03/great-google-y-moogly/) & they have a massage room, game room, gym, free espresso, free gourmet cafetera, & TV-size monitors. The benefits are supposed to be great. Having worked on many large, important apps for the U.S. Treasury that directly impact our economy, I think I'm qualified.

2 downsides: The office is located on the Carnegie University campus in the heart of the city. That means that my options are expensive housing, cheap housing in a bad neighborhood, or a long commute. Also, it's going to be hard to sell our current place for what we owe, given the local economy. Still I can always dream...

I got an email today selling 226 sermon outline for $29.95. I find that really funny, but also sad. I've never gotten outlines from a book. No offense, but I think any good pastor should have enough creativity, intelligence, and spirituality to come up with their own material.
