Writing and stuff...
Okay, I 've decided to not go completely crazy and given the
sgabigbang artwork deadline a miss. I admit the decision was made easier by the fact that my friend Bine said she'd make me something pretty instead, which makes it all better. Real life kept interrupting with completely unnecessary but sanity threatening stuff and I decided to go for quality instead of swiftness.
Went for a run, good for clearing the cobwebs out of ye olde brain, and found that even if my ankle still isn't completely happy with running, fast walking will work just fine. And it's better for getting back into shape. Having to be careful for nearly two months sucked, big time, and now I'm done for, just from a brisk walk - okay an hour's brisk walk, but nonetheless...*collapses into nearest chair*
It was rather fun, though. The local bat population seemed to be rather bemused by the silly human who walked in on them during bug-hunting time... cute. Also, the darn mosquitoes still think I'm the best thing ever. My neck looks as if Dracula had a go at it...urgh.
Another thing that makes me smile, I survived putting my first story ever up on Wraithbait. Was pretty nervous, but people on the lj lists I posted it to seemed to like it and there's nothing that makes up for nice reviews when you start questioning yourself because you've spent so much time on that one story, you can't seem to see where it's going or whether it is going somewhere at all. I was at the let's chuck it all in and never look at it again stage, when I decided to write something short and completely different and 'lo and behold, got my muse for the BigBang story back on track. Very nice.
Watching 'Search and Rescue' didn't exactly help, because now I have this episode tag that's nagging me to write it... I try to convince myself that it would be silly, because then I'd have to get it beta-ed and everyone and their hamster is busy with the BigBang event at the moment. Hrmmm, going to give the last five pages I've written today a last once-over before going to bed. Will not listen to insolent voice in my head, nope absolutely not...
