this is a very important entry.
a good friend of mine died today. a good friend of my family's. a very good friend of my mother's.
her name was wendie jo sperber.
if you look her up on imdb.com, you'll find she spans a large range of movies, including the back to the future trilogy and 1941. she had a son, spencer, a daughter, daphne, and a beautiful home and great friends.
a couple of years ago, wendie was diagnosed with breast cancer.
she started a phenomenal breast cancer survivor force called WeSpark, which gave hope and courage to women in los angeles fighting cancer.
i have never spoken an ill word about wendie because there wasn't one to speak. she was a beautiful person; funny and kind and had a love for animals and people. she hosted passover dinner at her house. she got tons of celebrities to sponsor her WeSpark golf tournament to raise money for breast cancer research.
she was a brave person who never spoke of how ill she was, even though you could see it in her eyes that the medication was weakening her.
wendie inspired, enlightened, and most of all, she made people laugh.
let this be a message to everyone.
don't forget how close death is.
it's right here, in our lives all the time, no matter how much we try to ignore it.
no matter how much i try ignoring it.
try and live every day to it's fullest and as cliche as it is, please cherish everyone who loves you and don't forget to remind them.
parting words by Wendie herself:
"Remember, the 'drama' needs to be in the landscape and not in our lives...so don't take any of those poops seriously."
