Everyone is someone in LA
Tomorrow I go back to Phoenix. :( So Sad. Most of my time in California was spent being a tourist in San Francisco. I LOVE Northern Ca. Seriously. Good Wine, Good Food, Good music...
I came back to SoCal and spent the rest of my time with my best friend, Di and Nick. Yes, THAT Nick. Yeah, he did shitty things but no matter what, we always have fun together and we always laugh. The Three of us Went to See Felix da Housecat on Saturday evening at the Avalon. I don't think I've ever expressed my love for electronic music before. I LOVE electronic music. And I don't mean that techno shit with repetitive beats that alll sounds the same. No. I mean, well produced, dance-able music that you can just drink and have fun with. And Felix da housecat is amazing. AMAZING. So Nick, Di and I spent the night dancing our asses off at the Avalon around lots of fabulous gay boys in a drunken/stoned haze. Seriously, my dance skills could rival any go-go dancer. Too bad it was sooooo packed and way, way, way too hot to like, get my groove on seriously. I love dancing. A lot. I don't listen to his music just to listen to it. But for dancing, nothing beats electronica.
Can you SEE how sweaty we are?! For serious. My hair was dripping with sweat. So nasty.
Also, events like this bring some interesting characters. Not to get all racial, but I've never seen so many asian people in one room in my life. And I don't mean young, hip 20-somethings. I mean, middle aged, badly dressed, Yoko Ono look alikes who all did the exact same dance. The man placed his hands on the womans shoulders and just sort of pushed and pulled her from side to side while she moved her head in rhythm. WEIRD. So Di and I started doing our favorite dances. Really, you haven't lived til you've actually, seriously, done "the shopping cart", the "hedge clippers", "the lawnmower", "the patty cake" (we made this one up), and "makeup" to a live dj set.
Good freakin times. Arizona sucks for Electronic music :(
