for the second time in my neighborhood in a week, i have been followed for several crowded blocks by a pudgy thug who upon catching up to me asks first if i've seen [insert generic name here], who is supposed to get him That Bag, then if i know where he can get A Bag, promising he will Hook Me Up with a share of the contents if i can provide some ( Read more... )

I'd be worried if I were you.

Carrying bags of powered sugar is a bad idea, since you can be arrested for it as if it were actually a drug if you pass it off to say, an undercover cop posing as a stupid pudgy thug.

yeah i wasn't actually planning on selling powdered sugar to pudgy thughives. fuckers could search my bag at any point they wanted to & they would find nothing more incriminating than a [literally, to anyone but myself] incoherent notebook. i feel like there has to be someone who looks like me going around doing this shit now.

Of course it could be something mildly innocuous as well. Perhaps he thinks you look like a girl who MUST know where to get drugs and he has no connections, so he keeps asking you to score for him.

Or he may be trying out his new creative pickup line: 1) Look for a girl that looks like she might be a cokehead. 2) Make up a BS story, and entice her out on a "date" with promises of drugs, merrymaking and fun. Who knows, maybe that works for him?

see that's what i thought with the first guy. but two of them in a week? with like near-identical stories? either this is supposed to end up as an unspeakably horrible reality series or--wait. i must have signed up to audition for "america's next top hustler," then forgotten about it.

Haha, I thought you meant it was the same guy. That's what had me worried, but two different guys seems outside the scope of coincidence. I'm not sure what's really going on, but I think it would be wise to be somewhat wary.

You know, someone could've made an anonymous tip that you are dealing, just to be a rotten person and cause you problems knowing that you don't do anything like that -- it's been known to happen, and I saw a bizarre story in the news a few weeks ago where someone was doing that. I don't want to put ideas in your head, just seems strange. It's probably nothing, but be careful anyway.

the people who'd have any motive to do something like that would be reluctant to talk to cops & even more reluctant to try to spread rumors around the pudgy-thug-cokefiend community, though. if it happens again next saturday, i'll know that the cosmos is skipping

Let's just assume it's the bad pickup line MO, and leave it at that. Drug-types in NYC have been known to use that in the past.

or should we call just call you that roid addled PHoNY who doesn't know this is a metaphor FROM a dream?"

No, actually my IP at the moment is, 146.96.41.29. Not that you can do anything with that, and you'd probably end up getting arrested if you tried. LoL, OK I've wasted way more of my time on you than I should have. I'm off, busy day and all -- unlike you. Enjoy your long day on the internet.
