Vox... you're where I turn when I've turned in all the other directions. It'd be nice to have something profound to say, something that's metaquotable... actually just something that feels (to me) to be more energized than anything else I've said lately.
What is with me, anyway? What's up with all the stagnation?
I'm going to boot up WoW for the first time in weeks and see if it leads me to a new path.

sort of.
i miss him. arghe. ye olde arghe.
cheesy but true. he's in vegas for the hockey tournament (they're winning, yay!) and won't be home until sunday evening. i did the tshirts for his team, it pleases me. they liked 'em.
i could fill all my moments with things like productive behavior or sleep, but that seems to be failing. tomorrow and sunday will be busy days though; a factor not determined by me but one i will have to adhere to. i'm okay with that.
it's the moment between when i start getting ready for bed and actually pass out that it sucks. it SUCKS. i just want him to get home, because it's not the same with the cat. too much fluff getting in my face.
it was nice to hear him call today and just ask how i was.
<3. come home, love.

I'd just like to ask one question, as I notice the ad for Georgia Rule over there in the skyscraper ad spot - Is Lindsay Lohan's ten minutes of fame up yet? Jesus. Oh well, it's better than hearing about how sick people are of Britney's boots.
Secretary is on in the living room. I should be doing A, B, C, D and Q, but instead I'm blogging and waiting far too late to make my hot cocoa. If we're out of that (weep!) then I'll have to make tea, because that's how a rockstar improvises, okay?
1024x768 over here for a wallpaper (custom-made by me, yay). That's one of my favorite movies, by the way. Watch it if you haven't done so already. Oh yeah, and I managed to buy a phalenenopsis plant finally, for my desk at work. I'm not going to look up the spelling because I'm a rebel, but it looks just like the orchid in the wallpaper I made. Alright then.

Speaking of wallpaper, the one over here is mine at work. It makes me giggle every time I look at it. I don't know who started cat macros, but I love them.
< LOOK.
On another topic....
With working at an event center, I get to see all the Lovely Ladies of SoCal wander in with their big ol' two+ carat rocks weighing down their perfectly manicured hands. Not to mention their perfect physique, and they stumble in with some big meatheaded dude, whose mom is paying for their whole $5000+ event. It's ridiculous. If my self esteem wasn't low before, it is now. Okay? It just is. I keep wanting to look as perfect and tailored as those wenches do, but the capability for being high maintenance has worn away long ago.
That is a total rant that shouldn't have been made, but I don't care. It's a pain and lately I've been feeling numb and bored. It's because my skin looks like crap lately, which was brought on by stress. Sweet.
Fuck the dumb shit, I'm going to find some cocoa.

You know what I'd love to do? Excluding getting rid of the fleas in the apartment so they stop biting my legs?
Sew!
Few people know that embroidery/cross stitching is one of my many talents... I don't think any of my friends online know, although now they do. Just get me a hoop, needle, thread, fabric and a good pattern, and I'll go at it for hours. It's very relaxing and I've made some cute table covers. :) Aye, some people knit, I cross stitch.
Some of this artsy glee comes from reading this book:
...which I've recently borrowed from the library. It didn't have quite what I was searching for, but it did spark a very small flame of domestic creativity, which was the goal. Organizational reading material is a weakness of mine. So tomorrow will mean a trip to a fabric store, perhaps Michael's as well. If any store would have that sort of stuff, it would probably be one of those two.
In the meantime, my Scrubs addiction is growing and just watching it on TV/YouTube is not enough. I want ALL THE SEASONS, people. ALL OF THEM. DVDs for me, peez.

Overtime plus two.
I'm ready to pony up a deposit *and* pay for movers if it just gets us the fuck out of this apartment. I don't care if we're renting elsewhere, but I am so completely OVER my neighbors.

A tiny bit of an update

The seller came back with an offer that just didn't sit right, although with some weaseling and a little more money out of pocket than planned it would be workable. It'd also sort of be like hammering the round peg into the square hole: you can do it, but it's gonna be painful. Also your craft table is gonna be screwed up, and then the kids are the daycare will be pissy. Nobody wants that.
Then we saw another listing for about 30k cheaper, actually listed at the price we named as a low-end offer. It's almost exactly the same townhouse as the one we put the first offer in on, except slightly older appliances/paint, and only one building over. It's also 45 square feet bigger, $50 cheaper for the HOA fees and there's nothing wrong with any of that. Did I mention we can pay our inspector/contractor in beer? I'll go all out and get him some Jack as well. Stairs, a bathtub and a hot tub. If he wants to drink it nekkid on our living room floor then more power to him.
I immediately called up the realtor, said we want to buy it now, and we're going tomorrow to a) do the first section of paperwork and b) get a new loan program developed for that price. The broker we were talking with is just tough to get in touch with, and we can't afford to waste any time on such a good opportunity. So I'm going to have my former boss, the Owner/President of Courtesy Mortgage do it, if he can.
Cross your fingaz, omgz0rz.
I leave you with my very favorite cat macro:

This song is too hott for some of you, and that's alright, but it makes me move as soon as the first beats drop. I had to share.
Something else I have to share, which is not going to be blogged anywhere else until a little later this week, when details are more set in stone. So here's my announcement:
We're moving. Buying a place, to be more precise, buying a townhouse to be more specific.
Wait, let me say that again. I'm going to be saying it a lot because it's not sinking in for me.
We're buying a townhouse.
What the f//k?
It's nice. Not Bird Rock nice, but Mission Valley nice. Nice enough to where I'd feel comfortable having house parties. It's across the complex from the place we lived in when I first moved here. Crap! I love it. I love that it will be in Affordable Range. We're in counter-offer status right now and I'll hear back from the seller tomorrow. She's sleeping on it but I think she's got her mind made up. If that offer just doesn't sit right (i.e., a tad too high), we're going to pick up this other townhouse, the one already listed at what we're offering.
Photos and whatnot will get posted when the deal is more solid. There are only about ten up online, the ones posted by Prudential, and it only shows about half of the place, but they still show it off. It has a bathtub. It has a hot tub! I'm excited. You'll get to see soon enough.
Here's the short version of everything. I've been keeping way quiet but it's been tough. You know how it is though when stuff doesn't fall through and you've told everyone. Argh.
Anyway: we've been looking at places to buy for awhile. About a month ago I saw this listing on Craigslist, and J said "call the realtor". We took the walkthrough and the realtor was a sweetheart. That whole unemployment thing I had going wasn't exactly good, and it was listed at 315,000, so there was a lot of delay and we pretty much put it onto the back burner for an unknown amount of time. Then a lot of good stuff happened for us all at once, including the listing price dropping to 300,000. This bumped it into our budget bracket, so last night we went and made an offer. That brings us up to today, and the paragraph up top there.
I didn't want to post this everywhere yet because Vox still feels like more of a Journal, and less of an RSS feed. I know people read my Vox, but I know they write in their own as well, and it feels more like a happy tight community and not all commercialized like MySpace, or even LJ. Is it terrible to feel more of a loyalty to a blogging community that I have been on a sixth of the time that I've been on LJ? Who knows. It's nice to just be able to write though. You guys know what I mean. So play nice and keep my secret, okay? ;)
I'm anxious, excited, scared, chill, the whole gambit. Jason and I are buying a townhouse. Geez. Geezly Crow, even. We could waffle* around forever but the way things are progressing, we're going to have the keys to a new place by the second week of May. A place with a hot tub AND a bathtub! Woohoo!!!!
In conclusion, things are as fantastic as I could have ever hoped, finally. Everyone else is having babies, getting married, getting engaged. I'm getting a house with the guy I love. Sweet.
If it had been easy it probably wouldn't feel as good now.
This message has been brought to you by Fatman Scoop & The Crooklyn Clan, who want you to drop, come on come breathe in breathe out. Ohhhh snap!
*omg, i never get to use that properly. woohoo!!
