Sometimes I wonder what plan God has for me,
Am I listening? Am I doing as I am told?
Is this the decision he wants me to see?
It just gets harder as I get old.
I want to do his will and be passionate again,
I want to be his servant and him my master,
For Jesus Christ is the King of Men,
But I get lost in haze as the world spins faster.
It is in this confusion that I find my angels on earth,
The friends that see me through and offer support,
The ones that I thank God for their birth,
My only defenders in this life of court.
In the end, I can only do so much,
Being humbled and sorry for all of my sin,
But I thank God for people like you of which I feel the touch,
Of God's hand by giving me you as my honorary kin.
You help me to see God's will for my life.
You help me to see him work.
You help me through all the pain and strife,
And you are the luxury God gave me as a perk.
Thanks for staying up with me and discussing testimony and relationship,
I see God's true beauty in your words and face,
Through you I get a taste of heaven in a small sip,
You help me run the marathon of life at a doable pace.
What else can I say to you or God?
To show my appreciation for all that has been done,
I have been through my stuff, but you are the other pea in the pod,
The one that understands how sometimes life's burdens can weigh a ton.
So I think God put you in my life for a reason,
Seeing your face and hearing your voice makes home not so far,
I can feel the warmth of summer in any season,
In a cloudy sky, you are my bright shining northern star.
Just know that no matter what I am always here,
As God blessed me with you, I will be faithful to requite the love,
I will be there for every laugh and to wipe every tear,
And every night and day, I'll thank God for giving me you, my piece of him from up above.
