You took a really difficult concept and turned it into something very original and different. I like that you didn't go for easy answers and left the ending with Bill and the other Laura reconciling as friends, but not lovers. This possibility is there if the readers wish to see it, but really I do think there was only one Laura Roslin for him and she died.

Thank you. We all went back and forth quite a bit over the ultimate fate of Cylon!Laura and Cancer!Laura (as we called them). In the end, we decided that we really wanted to leave it open to whatever the reader wanted to imagine.

*ABSOLUTELY BAWLING*

*HUGS BOTH LAURA'S AND BILL*

Okay... I think - you did an incredible job closing this out - especially the beauty of having Laura seeing Earth and the life there... even if it wasn't with her own eyes but still... sort of. Opening this to a chance that... offers a chance that Bill isn't alone but has companionship. (And I don't mean this in a romantic sense because with the way I view this, it's the same as with Helo and Sharon and the Eights during the series - even with shared memories, they are not interchangeable.) I love the idea of the cylon!Laura truly becoming like a sister to Laura. The overwhelming sense of peace, and life, and hope that blankets everything here. It's beautiful, even if I'm slightly heartbroken, because it was worded perfectly. The two Lauras each had something the other didn't have... but both found a way to make their peace with what they did, and it's just, really, really beautiful.

My own initial gut instinct was to have them together at the end, but as a group we all decided that it would be a disservice to Cancer!Laura and a bit too easy of an ending overall. We thought a lot of people would have expected us to put them together. While we all have different ideas of what the future would hold beyond this point, my own inclination is that they did indeed have that companionship and maybe over time, a lot of time, something more. Laura did already love Bill before she 'died' in Epiphanies after all.

It would certainly have been interesting... I think I would go with the possibility over a lot of time... It would be especially hard I think, because their experiences have diverged so much, but Laura is still so Laura that even the inadvertent remarks pained Bill so much... With Searider Falcon being their book, there's a part of me that's sort of startled by how this would work in the future I guess. :)

Gosh darn it. I'm going to start crying again! ><" And I won't stop thinking about this now.

Your fault! Your beautiful fault! (Kidding... well, maybe not the second one - even if it makes little sense. ;))

By the way, may I just add though - I love the way you utilize the final lines though. The way you've managed to combine this reality with Bill's words from the finale. "You remind me of her"... That just rings in my head, and I think it's mostly there that I see all the different sorts of possibility...

*cannot stop pondering now...*

This is my comment on the whole story. I really like the choices you all made throughout it. Everything rang true. Both Laura's remained true yet distinct. The end was both heartbreaking and hopeful. Really a nice collaborative piece that remained consistent and unfortunately had me jumping to the next chapter to read rather than stopping to comment. Thanks for writing this!

It was fun to sit back and wait for everyone else to lead up to the ending and see how my own ideas would tie in. I just had to bring up the rear. Glad you enjoyed the whole story...it was amazing to work on.
