Well, I checked out Wilkin's apartment. The inside of it, which I wasn't really expecting. I bet he's got surveillance cameras in the hall--I really wasn't being loud or anything. I, of course, drove straight over to Buffy's when I got her message. I admit it, I am eager to discover what she found. Hearing voices in the kitchen, I walk in through the back door to find Willow, BUffy and Riley already there.

"Hi, Giles!" I say, brightly. "We were just trying to figure out what we could learn from Wilkins' uh...snot." I glance at Riley and smile at him. "Although Riley might want to analyze the cookies for potential evil, too."

"Snot? Cookies?" I look at Riley. "Do I want to know what she's talking about?"

"Presents from Wilkins," I explain, nodding to the baggie with the handkerchief that Willow is holding. "He sneezed on it and said we could do whatever tests we wanted to see if he's evil or demonic or whatever. Riley's just upset 'cause I ate a cookie he gave me, but see? No ill effects."

"Yes, very well, so I see. What else did you discover?" I ask, hoping she'll put the handkerchief away now.

I shrug. "Nothing. Honestly, I didn't see anything hinky in his apartment. I mean, he remembered everything that happened before but--I dunno, is it impossible to believe the guy learned his lesson?" I wrinkle up my nose. "He did say something about you and Wes...like, he wouldn't be the man he is today if not for you, or something like that?" I glance at Giles to see if he has any idea what Wilkins meant by that.

I still when she says that and look at her. "What do you mean? What exactly did he say?"

I concentrate, trying to remember his exact wording. "Uh, he said to pass on good wishes to you and Wes--that it was a long story but he wouldn't be the man standing in front of me today if not for you two." I shrug.

"Hmm, indeed." INteresting, the choice of words, though I would rather not voice my suspicions as yet - possibly I will talk to Wesley first. It would do nobody any good to jump the gun and may mean nothing in the practicalities of things. POssibly our little jaunt to the past did affect things more than we supposed.

Ookay, it looked he wasn't gonna fill me in on what it might mean. "Well, if you figure it out, let me know. But in the meantime, think we can find out anything from the hanky?" I glance between him and Willow hopefully.

"We'll look into it," I say, setting the baggie down on the table. Yeash.

"Cool," I say, with a smile. "And yeah, it's gross, but just think of it as demon slime, or some particularly icky spell component."
