Aww. Just when you think your guy has been swallowed whole by the army, he gets all attentive again. Riley sent a beautiful bunch of flowers, pink roses and daisies, and some purpley something. With the sweetest note ever attached to it saying how sorry he is that he hasn't had much time for us lately. Makes a girl all gooey in the knees. And kinda ( Read more... )

"Only to the extent that Jordy bit Oz as a toddler - at least that is what I understand occurred. And how did Amanda take the slayer information? Maybe this could be handled delicately - tell her about the history behind slayers, the existance of potentials, see what her reaction is," I say, considering the different ways this could be handled.

I think about that. Jordy was a werewolf first, maybe that's why he has more control. "Huh. All Oz ever said was 'I was bit', so who knew?" I say. "How'd she take it...well, pretty well I guess. She said someone should have the job, keeping monsters at bay. I didn't really get the sense she'd want it to be her, though. But I'm totally willing to talk to her about it some more, just...well, I'd kinda like her to bring it up, y'know?"

"I'm sure you'll find a way, Buffy," I assure her.

Oookay, sounds like he's leaving that one up to me. Which I'm okay with, actually. I'd rather it came from me, I guess. I smile at him. "Cool. So did you see that picture in the paper of some guy who looks just like Mayor Wilkins? Freaky! I was putting the recycling out so I didn't have time to read the article, but...kind gave me a weird jolt."

I look at her, surprised - I hadn’t heard any such thing. “Really? Though, I have to admit, I have been rather lax lately. With one thing and another I’m afraid my habit of keeping abreast of local news has fallen rather by the wayside. Are you sure you didn’t simply make a mental connection - possibly there was a simple resemblance?” I suggest, but I’m already frowning. “After all, the Mayor died, we all saw it. Hmm, it would be best if I looked into this - I will go to the local library and look at their back issues. Do you know what day it was you saw the article?”

I look puzzled. "No, it was a few weeks back, no clue of the date. But I swear, spitting image. Same big goofy and at the same time plotting-somthing-evil grin," I say, remembering with a lot of malice. "Someone recycled the paper before I had a chance to look through it...well, not that I actually read it that often, but I try to check headlines for the weird. It just caught my eye in a very non-nice way."

"I see - I will look into it," I tell her. It may come to nothing, but I would rather be sure.

I shrug. "Just struck me as weird. We've had our share of doppelgangers, after all." I look at him. "So what's up with you? I've been running my mouth like crazy." I always forget to ask that, go me.

“You know, I have been asking myself that very question recently and coming up blank. The time just seems to have got away from me,” I tell her. This seems to be as good a time as any to raise the subject I discussed with Tara the other day. “Though I saw Tara the other day.”

"Yeah? What'd you talk about?" I ask. I can't actually think of any issues Tara might have besides taking Dawn shopping.
