Have I mentioned lately how happy I am that
Riley and I are together? I mean, not only was he total supporto-ride-to-the-rescue guy all through the ordeal of finding
Dawnie and taking down
Stone and his goons, but then he turns around and takes me out for my birthday last night. At that really nice little French place tucked into a hole in the wall downtown, yum! And shopping, which was so much fun. Only I hope I didn't really break his budget--after a big fight like that I can get pretty self-indulgent. Plus I got a night off from slayage, 'cause he assured me his buddies on base would handle any stragglers from the vamp army.
It was cool, too, that I didn't have to worry about leaving Dawn--
all her friends came over and had a sort of spontaneous movie night. It's really good to see her less with the isolation these days. I know she's gotta be feeling kind of fragile and vulnerable, but her friends probably help way more than I would.
I didn't say anything to Jordy, he seemed like he'd just get embarrassed if I made a fuss over how he helped us. He strikes me as kinda like
Oz that way.
Anyway, today I worked at the Magic Box all day. Things have slowed down since the after-after-holiday sales, but
Anya hasn't said she doesn't need the help any more, and I can sure use the extra paycheck. I should call
Giles soon. I'm kinda curious if he knows what Stone was trying to do with the big ritual thing. I think I'm just gonna go home and veg tonight.
